Contemporary aesthetic materials with digital and analogue fabrication techniques
The selection of the restorative material is one of the complex issues for the aesthetic treatments. Today, successful treatments not only functional, but also biological and aesthetics outcomes of the treatment.
Different prosthetic modalities have an important role on the outcomes of the treatment. Missed approaches in the material
choice may lead to problems of the final restorations. Using aesthetic materials like analogue or digital fabricated all-ceramic restorations may lead to reconstruction to have higher risks for fracture. To improve the strength and aesthetic of restorative biomaterials and to customized suprastructures CAD/CAM technologies are needed. Thanks to these novel approaches, the
modalities are changed and new materials are introduced to the market. The purpose of this presentation is to demonstrate how to choose appropriate restorative materials for aesthetic treatments.
Learning Objectives
- Becoming familiar with additive and subtractive CAD/CAM technologies and their application in prosthetic dentistry
- Becoming familiar with different CAD/CAM treatment options including inlays, onlays, laminate veneers and crowns
- Becoming familiar with different materials used in analogue and CAD/CAM restorations
