Clinical Challenges and Treatment Options in Pediatric and Adolescent Patients with Enamel Defects
Clinical Challenges and Treatment Options with Enamel Defects
In pediatric patients, developmental enamel defects can create anxiety and cooperation difficulties due to aesthetic concerns, dental sensitivity, challenges in providing local anesthesia, and the need for prolonged treatment. This presentation will focus on the differential diagnosis of enamel defects, factors influencing the determination of correct treatment indications, and current solutions to address challenges encountered during treatment. Recent treatment approaches will be discussed in the context of current literature, and the outcomes of their implementation will be evaluated.
Learning Objectives
- Identify the factors influencing the determination of correct treatment indications for enamel defects in pediatric patients.
- Understand the clinical challenges associated with developmental enamel defects in pediatric patients, including aesthetic concerns, dental sensitivity and other clinical difficulties.
- Evaluate current solutions and treatment approaches to address challenges encountered during the clinical management of enamel defects including molar incisor hypomineralisation.
New Trends in Minimal Invasive Approaches in Paediatric & Adolescent Patients: What Does Current Evidence Say?
Minimal invasive approaches in pediatric and adolescent patients have gained significant attention in recent years, reflecting a shift towards more conservative and child-friendly dental treatments. This presentation will focus on exploring the latest trends in minimal invasive approaches, including caries management, preventive appraoches and aesthetic treatments as the adoption of minimal invasive techniques in pediatric and adolescent dentistry is driven by the desire to preserve tooth structure, minimize discomfort, and improve the overall patient experience. Recent advances in dental materials, technologies, and treatment protocols will be discussed in the context of minimal invasive procedures, that offer viable alternatives to traditional interventions.
Learning Objectives
To gain an understanding of minimally invasive techniques for use in paediatric dentistry in aid of dental care planning using minimum intervention principles.
Explore the latest trends in minimal invasive approaches, focusing on caries management, preventive strategies, and aesthetic treatments
Recognize the application of best practice in evidence-based caries management for paediatric patients.
