Direct Posterior Composite Resin Applications: Deep Margin Elevation, Ideal Anatomy and Tight Interproximal Contacts in Class II Cavities
The Direct Posterior Composite Resin Applications Course aims to teach participants the step-by-step processes of placing, shaping, finishing, and polishing of posterior resin composites. Throughout the course, participants learn advanced techniques for direct posterior restorations in challenging scenarios such as large Class II cavities and acquire the skills to apply these techniques predictably and effectively, mimicking the natural tooth. Participants use the sectional matrix systems to create contact points and contact surfaces, becoming competent in band selection and its placement. In this course, participants will have the opportunity to perform applications of different types of composite resins and gain knowledge in selecting the most suitable restoration material for each case. By considering cusp morphology, layering techniques, and adhesion methods, participants acquire the necessary skills to perform complex restorations and become capable of advanced direct composite resin applications by the end of the course.
Learning objectives
- Re-creation of natural tooth anatomy by “cucp by cusp” morphology Selection of the most suitable restoration material for each case
- Ensuring proper contour and contacts with the use of sectional matrices
- Understand posterior composite restoration sequences and workflow.
