Current multidisciplinary perspectives in aesthetic Dentistry: Management of diastema cases.
Zenith point is the first and foremost important issue in restoring diastema, since the relationship between zenith of the tooth and the mid point of the incised margin determines the bevel of the tooth thus dictates the aesthetic. Periodontal perspective in treatment diastema will be discussed in this perspective.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the dynamics of filling diastema at the aesthetic dentition
- Understand the importance of mismatch of there Zenith and midpoint
- Crown lengthening, biologic width
Failures in Periodontal Therapy and Possible Reasons
Failures in periodontal therapy may fall into two major categories, namely failures in reconstitution of oral microbial symbiosis and failures in mucogingival treatment. Reconstitution of oral health is in general based on diagnosis of the disorder, choosing the treatment suitable for the case, and providing supportive treatment. Failures in mucogingival treatment may be aesthetic or functional, or sometimes both. The path to avoid failures and complications may be paved by clear understanding of the diagnosis, treatment end points, tailoring the treatment to the patient needs and for sure the partitioners limits.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the key factors that may lead to failures in periodontal treatment and appreciate thorough evaluation of the cases before finalising treatment plan.
- Develop necessary strategies to maintain healthy soft tissues around teeth and their substitutes.
- Develop strategies to handle complications
