Orthodontic Solution in Molar Hypomineralization
The premature loss of one or more first permanent molars in a young patient is one of the most relevant challenges we face in daily practice. Decisions regarding the best way to address them represent a real challenge for both the pediatric dentist and the orthodontist. In this lecture we will discuss treatment alternatives, emphasizing orthodontic management in adolescents.
Learning objectives
- Learn to correctly identify when the extraction of the young permanent first molar is inevitable.
- Understand the different situations that lead to severe destruction of the first molar, including dental caries as well as various structural defects of the enamel.
- Review the aspects that we must consider in decision-making and the orthodontic approach for the correct closure of the lost molar space and its relationship with correct occlusion.
Pediatric Zirconia Crowns How and When?
Pediatric zirconia crowns represent an alternative for treating severely damaged primary and your permanent teeth. This presentation includes the use of new bioactive materials for pulpotomies in both primarv and young permanent teeth. We will also review some solutions for pulp exposures of traumatic origin and their correct restoration.
Learning objectives
- We will learn to make restorative decisions with a minimally invasive vision.
- Understand the biological concepts related to caries in primary teeth and current treatment alternatives.
- Understand the relationship between caries and inflammation of the pulp tissue in primary anterior teeth and their relationship with the choice of restorative material.
