Clinical Applications of Digital Dental Technologies in Orthodontics

Digital dental applications have revolutionized modern dentistry, especially orthodontics, enhancing diagnostic accuracy, treatment planning, and patient outcomes. The integration of digital innovations in dental practices is more than just a technological upgrade; it represents a paradigm shift in how dental care is delivered and experienced. These applications encompass a wide range of technologies, including intraoral scanners, 3D printers, computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems, and virtual reality simulations. However, these technological developments that aim to make our lives easier unfortunately come with a huge price tag regardless of the specialty field of dentistry. Therefore, the main objective of this presentation is to discuss the possibilities of what free software can offer us in order to help our daily practice along with high-cost software, especially in the field of orthodontics.
