Born in 1966 in Kütahya. Dr. Horasan graduated from Instanbul University Faculty of Dentistry in 1990 and attended the PhD programme in the Department of Oral Diagnosis and Radiology in the same university. In 1997 he finished his PhD and consequently attained the degree of “Dr.Med.Dent”. He contributed in over 30 published scientific articles as an author and gave over 150 oral presentations.
In 1995 he founded “Teknodent Centre of Dentistry and Imaging” while starting to work in the field of Dento-Maxillofacial Radiology.
In 2004 he introduced the first “Dental Volumetric Tomography” and shifted his focus on DVTs.
Has been a faculty member of İstanbul Nişantaşı University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Dentomaxillofacial Radiology.
Dental Implant Planning and Anatomy Using Artificial Intelligence
Treatment planning of dental and maxillofacial pathologies is based on obtaining clinical and radiological information as much as possible. The key of successful treatment planning is to be able to the image area we want to examine with the least radiation dose by using appropriate radiographic techniques following an appropriate clinical examination. In this presentation, all kinds of novel radiological and artificial intelligence applications and may become routine in examination practice in the future will be examined, based on the scientific literature, and for what applications they can be used to improve examination practice. Cases would be examined with HANDS-ON applications using Artificial Intelligence software and a wide variety would be presented compared to conventional techniques.
Learning objectives
- Will have brief information about Dental Volumetric Tomography, Panoramic units, Artificial intelligence and their functioning and will be able to choose the radiology technique according to the case.
- Will be able to recognize anatomical structures and variations on radiography and define radiopaque/radiolucent lesions.
- They will be able to test the contributions of artificial intelligence to dentists in the anatomy, pathology and planning stages of dental radiology with practical applications.
